The Sport Community once again joined forces with law firm McHale & Co to send a young athlete to the European Transplant and Dialysis Sports Championships.
Sam Clarke, who was born with a genetic kidney disease and had a transplant in 2003 at the age of 11, won gold in petanque pairs, ten pin bowling singles, ten pin bowling pairs and team bronze in floorball hockey.
His best performance in Vantaa, Finland, came in discus where he won silver with a personal best of 21m 44.
Sam, who trained at Altrincham Athletics Club in Timperley under coach John Snape up to five times a week despite having to take 13 medications a day, competed in the M2, 18-29 years category at the games.
A team of 12 solicitors from McHale & Co ran the Manchester 10k and scaled the Three Peaks Challenge to help raise funds for Sam.
