What We Do

We work alongside charitable organisations, supporting their existing programmes and/or developing and delivering new programmes on behalf of your business. This could mean working with football club trusts, with the foundations of high-profile sportsmen and women, or supporting the local club.

We were commissioned by Yorkshire Sport Foundation to access funding for a programme to tackle anti-social behaviour and crime.

We worked with FK Group – which has an office in Doncaster – to fund sport activities throughout the school summer holidays. This programme was designed to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.

Many companies already donate to sports clubs to support the good work they do. These donations help clubs to paper over the cracks (sometimes literally) and clubs need help year on year.  With The Sport Community’s approach, a company donation can be used to access grants to improve facilities and equipment. This approach creates lasting change and levers in significant additional investment. A £5,000 donation could bring in up to £50,000 in grants.

FK Group – a nationwide construction firm – worked with us to look at ways it could boost its profile and engage staff in the vicinity of its new head office in south Manchester.

We implemented a series of boxing programmes at the nearby Timperley ABC. We used FK’s donations to ensure free boxing sessions for women on the Broomwood estate. We also organised an elite youth boxing competition with competitors travelling from Ireland to take on local talented fighters.

As part of our offering, we arranged a visit to the national centre of GB Taekwondo. The pupils met and held a question and answer session with Olympic athletes.

The Boxing Leadership Qualification – a course designed with professional boxer-turned-trainer and tv pundit Jamie Moore. We consulted with colleges and universities, along with other professional and amateur boxers and coaches.

The course includes lifestyle and coaching skills and is conducted in the fighter’s gym at their convenience. The course enables professional boxers to coach in schools, colleges and other organisations.
